Buenos Aires, Argentinien D/S/E

Der Flug von Quito nach Montevideo, Uruguay ging ca. 10 Stunden. Die Fahrt vom Flughafen Montevideo ins Hostel war wunderschön. Montevideo ist eine sehr untypische Stadt in Südamerika, sie ist sehr modern und die Innenstadt hat sehr viele schöne, mit Backstein gebaute Gebäude, welche mich an die Stadt Hamburg, Deutschland erinnerten. Nachdem ich noch zwei Stunden im Hostel geschlafen habe, machte ich noch einen kleinen Stadtrundgang durch die wunderschöne Stadt Montevideo. Am nächsten Tag musste ich schon um 6 Uhr morgens am Busbahnhof stehen. Der Bus brachte mich zum Hafen, wo ich mit dem Colonia Express in Richtung Buenos Aires fuhr. Die Überfahrt war sehr ruhig und dauerte etwas mehr als 1 Stunde. In Buenos Aires angekommen machte ich mich auf den Weg Richtung Unterkunft, welche direkt neben dem Obelisken liegt. Dort traf ich Kolja, den ich bei der Überfahrt von Panama nach Cartagena kennengelernt habe. Ich werde die nächsten 2 Wochen mit ihm Buenos Aires unsicher machen, bevor es Richtung Patagonien geht.

Als Erstes gingen wir Geld wechseln und eine U-Bahn Karte kaufen. Wie sich herausstellte und mir auch schon viele Freunde sagten, ist das Geldwechseln in Argentinien nicht so einfach. Den besten Kurs bekommt man am Blau Markt oder per Western Union Überweisung. Die Geldautomaten sollten gemieden werden, da man mit diesen bis zu 50% Kursverlust hat. Dank Kolja konnten wir die Dinge rasch erledigen, welche sonst wohl 1–2 Tage in Anspruch genommen hätten.

Nachdem wir die wichtigsten Dinge erledigt hatten, zeige er mir noch die Umgebung des Hostels. Einen Tag später gingen wir ins Quartier Palermo, welches zu den schönsten Quartieren in Buenos Aires gehört. Dort kaufte ich mir das Trikot der Boca Juniors, welches ich mir unbedingt kaufen wollte. Danach gingen wir noch etwas essen und dann spielten wir noch ein paar Runden Schach.

Zu Abschluss der Woche gingen wir noch zu einem Fussballspiel von Club Atletico Indepediente. Leider war das Heimteam in der Defensive sehr schlecht und kassierte unnötige Tore. Das Spiel war nicht gerade Weltklasse, aber die Stimmung im Stadion war grandios. Die Fans feierten, obwohl ihr Team keine Chance hatte. Genau das ist es, was ich am Fussball liebe.

In den nächsten Tagen geht es noch zu weiteren Fussballspielen, hoffentlich zu River oder Boca ins La Bombonera Stadion und dann möchte ich noch so viel wie möglich von der Stadt Buenos Aires sehen. In den nächsten zwei Wochen möchte ich eine Grobplanung haben meiner nächsten 5 Monaten in Argentinien, Brasilien und Peru. Aber wie ich mich kenne, wechselt dann sowieso wieder alles. :)

El vuelo de Quito a Montevideo (Uruguay) duró unas 10 horas. El trayecto en coche desde el aeropuerto de Montevideo hasta el albergue fue precioso. Montevideo es una ciudad muy atípica en Sudamérica, es muy moderna y el centro de la ciudad tiene muchos edificios de ladrillo preciosos, que me recordaron a la ciudad de Hamburgo, Alemania. Después de dormir dos horas en el albergue, di un corto paseo por la hermosa ciudad de Montevideo. Al día siguiente, tenía que estar en la estación de autobuses a las 6 de la mañana. El autobús me llevó al puerto, donde tomé el Colonia Express en dirección a Buenos Aires. La travesía fue muy tranquila y duró poco más de 1 hora. Una vez en Buenos Aires, me dirigí a mi alojamiento, que está justo al lado del obelisco. Allí me encontré con Kolja, a quien conocí durante la travesía de Panamá a Cartagena. Pasaré con él las dos próximas semanas explorando Buenos Aires antes de partir hacia la Patagonia.

Primero fuimos a cambiar dinero y comprar una tarjeta de metro. Resultó que, como ya me han dicho muchos amigos, cambiar dinero en Argentina no es tan fácil. La mejor tarifa se obtiene en el Mercado Azul o por transferencia de Western Union. Hay que evitar los cajeros automáticos, ya que con ellos se pierde hasta el 50% del tipo de cambio. Gracias a Kolja, pudimos hacer rápidamente cosas que de otro modo nos habrían llevado 1-2 días.

Después de hacer las cosas más importantes, me enseñó el albergue. Un día después, fuimos al barrio de Palermo, que es uno de los más bonitos de Buenos Aires. Allí me compré la camiseta de Boca Juniors, que tenía muchas ganas de comprar. Después salimos a comer y jugamos unas partidas de ajedrez.

Al final de la semana, fuimos a un partido de fútbol del Club Atlético Indepediente. Por desgracia, el equipo local estuvo muy mal defensivamente y encajó goles innecesarios. El partido no fue precisamente de categoría mundial, pero el ambiente en el estadio era estupendo. Los aficionados lo celebraron a pesar de que su equipo no tenía ninguna posibilidad. Eso es exactamente lo que me gusta del fútbol.

En los próximos días iré a más partidos de fútbol, espero que de River o Boca en el estadio de La Bombonera, y luego quiero ver lo más posible de la ciudad de Buenos Aires. En las próximas dos semanas quiero tener un plan aproximado de mis próximos 5 meses en Argentina, Brasil y Perú. Pero conociéndome, todo volverá a cambiar de todos modos. :)

The flight from Quito to Montevideo, Uruguay was about 10 hours. The drive from Montevideo airport to the hostel was beautiful. Montevideo is a very atypical city in South America, it is very modern and the downtown area has a lot of beautiful brick built buildings which reminded me of the city of Hamburg, Germany. After I slept two more hours in the hostel, I made a small city walk through the beautiful city of Montevideo. The next day I had to be at the bus station already at 6am. The bus took me to the port where I took the Colonia Express towards Buenos Aires. The crossing was very quiet and took a little over 1 hour. Once in Buenos Aires, I made my way towards my accommodation, which is right next to the Obelisk. There I met Kolja, whom I met during the crossing from Panama to Cartagena. I will make the next 2 weeks with him Buenos Aires unsafe, before it goes direction Patagonia.

The first thing we did was to change money and buy a subway card. As it turned out and as many friends already told me, changing money in Argentina is not that easy. You can get the best rate at the Blue Market or by Western Union wire transfer. The ATMs should be avoided, because with these you have up to 50% exchange rate loss. Thanks to Kolja we were able to do things quickly, which otherwise would have taken 1-2 days.

After we had done the most important things, he showed me the surroundings of the hostel. One day later we went to the Palermo neighborhood, which is one of the nicest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. There I bought the jersey of the Boca Juniors, which I really wanted to buy. Afterwards we went out to eat and then we played a few rounds of chess.

At the end of the week we went to a soccer game of Club Atletico Indepediente. Unfortunately, the home team was very bad defensively and conceded unnecessary goals. The game wasn't exactly world class, but the atmosphere in the stadium was terrific. The fans celebrated even though their team had no chance. That's exactly what I love about football.

In the next few days I will go to more soccer games, hopefully to River or Boca in La Bombonera Stadium and then I want to see as much of the city of Buenos Aires as possible. In the next two weeks I want to have a rough plan of my next 5 months in Argentina, Brazil and Peru. But as I know me, then everything changes again anyway. :)
