The new year didn’t knock. It crashed straight in.

Just a moment. Metal against metal. Silence. Then the question: Is everyone okay?

Yes. Everyone’s okay.A few scratches on our Uber, a crushed front on the other car. That was it. We got lucky. Still, adrenaline rushing through the body. Welcome, 2026.

It was already the second time Uber became part of an unplanned story — and once again, it wasn’t their fault. You don’t choose these moments. You live them. And then you leave them where they belong. In a bar. With a drink in your hand. The shock stayed behind, the lightness returned.

The days that followed were calm. Almost gentle.Buenos Aires slowed everything down. Less heat, more conversations. Friends. Laughter. Moments you don’t photograph because they’re better kept in your mind. The camera was allowed to rest.

But stillness never lasts long for me.

Now the maps are back on the table. Routes in my head. Ideas in my heart. Next week, the journey continues. After a month of pause in Buenos Aires, I’m heading to Guatemala — a country I already know, yet one I’m ready to rediscover.

This time, I won’t be alone. Friends from Switzerland are joining me. One month together, traveling, exploring, experiencing. I want to show them Latin America not as a destination, but as a feeling. The chaos, the warmth, the colors, the sounds, the encounters that stay with you long after.

For me, there’s a dream waiting there.

The quetzal.

The most beautiful bird in the world.

Colors that seem unreal.

A photograph I’ve been chasing for years.

The season isn’t perfect — but dreams rarely wait for perfect conditions.

The volcano is calling again. This time with a camera. With a drone. And hopefully without altitude sickness.

The route is still open. And that’s exactly how it should be.

I’ll stay in Guatemala until mid-February. Then the next chapter begins: my sister is coming to visit. Four weeks traveling through Argentina. Together. And yes — we’ll return to a place that won’t let go of me. I’ve been there alone. With my parents. And now, once more. Some places simply don’t release you.

What comes next?

Still unwritten.

The journey isn’t over. Decisions are waiting. Roads are branching.

One thing is certain:

The camera is back.

And the stories are already waiting.

Stay tuned 🌍📸✨

Sigan atentos 🌍📸✨
