Over the past three years, I embarked on a journey that became much more than just discovering new places – it was a journey of encounters, of freedom, and of a deep connection with a continent as diverse and alive as few others: South America.

From the very first moment, I felt the magic of this vast land. The endless expanses of Patagonia, the tropical forests of the Amazon, the mysterious islands like the Galápagos and Easter Island – each region revealed its own unique soul. I lived among colonial cities steeped in history, wandered through vibrant metropolises like Buenos Aires, and immersed myself in remote villages where time seemed to stand still.

I watched penguins in Tierra del Fuego, trekked through the towering Andes, explored the small, colorful nations of Suriname and French Guiana, and felt the rhythm of life in Brazil’s tropical north. I witnessed natural wonders, saw sunrises over the Atacama Desert, climbed volcanoes, braved the wild seas at Cape Horn, and was constantly touched by the incredible warmth and hospitality of the people.

These years were not always easy, but it was often the challenges – the long bus rides, the language barriers, the moments of solitude – that made the adventure even more intense. I didn’t just travel through countries; I built connections, created friendships, and left pieces of my heart scattered across this beautiful continent.

South America – you taught me to live in the moment, to welcome the unknown with open arms, and that the greatest treasures are often found where the path is the hardest.

Three years, countless stories – and yet, it feels as though this journey has only just begun.

Die Liebe zu Südamerika – Drei Jahre voller Abenteuer

In den letzten drei Jahren habe ich mich auf eine Reise begeben, die mehr war als nur das Entdecken neuer Orte – es war eine Reise der Begegnungen, der Freiheit und der tiefen Verbundenheit mit einem Kontinent, der so facettenreich ist wie kaum ein anderer: Südamerika.

Vom ersten Moment an spürte ich die Magie dieses riesigen Kontinents. Die endlosen Weiten Patagoniens, die tropischen Wälder des Amazonas, die geheimnisvollen Inseln wie Galápagos und Easter Island – jede Region offenbarte ihre eigene Seele. Ich habe zwischen Kolonialstädten voller Geschichte gelebt, mich durch pulsierende Metropolen wie Buenos Aires treiben lassen und bin in abgelegenen Dörfern eingetaucht, wo Zeit noch eine andere Bedeutung hat.

Ich habe Pinguine in Feuerland gesehen, bin durch die endlosen Anden gewandert, habe in Suriname und Französisch-Guayana die Vielfalt kleiner Länder entdeckt und im Norden Brasiliens dem Rhythmus der Tropen gelauscht. Ich durfte Naturwunder bestaunen, Sonnenaufgänge in der Atacama-Wüste erleben, Vulkane besteigen, das wilde Meer am Kap Hoorn spüren und die warme Gastfreundschaft der Menschen überall aufs Neue erfahren.

Diese Jahre waren nicht immer leicht, aber gerade die Herausforderungen – die langen Busfahrten, die Sprachbarrieren, das Vermissen – machten das Abenteuer nur intensiver. Ich habe nicht nur Länder bereist, ich habe Verbindungen geschaffen, neue Freundschaften geknüpft und ein Stück meines Herzens an diesen Kontinent verloren.

Südamerika – du hast mich gelehrt, im Moment zu leben, dem Unbekannten mit offenen Armen zu begegnen und dass das größte Glück oft dort zu finden ist, wo der Weg am steinigsten scheint.

Drei Jahre, unzählige Geschichten – und doch fühlt es sich an, als hätte diese Reise erst begonnen.

El Amor por Sudamérica – Tres Años de Aventuras

Durante los últimos tres años, emprendí un viaje que se convirtió en mucho más que descubrir nuevos lugares: fue un viaje de encuentros, de libertad y de una profunda conexión con un continente tan diverso y vibrante como pocos otros: Sudamérica.

Desde el primer momento, sentí la magia de esta tierra inmensa. Las infinitas llanuras de la Patagonia, las selvas tropicales del Amazonas, las islas misteriosas como Galápagos y Rapa Nui – cada región reveló su propia alma única. Viví en ciudades coloniales llenas de historia, me perdí en metrópolis vibrantes como Buenos Aires y me adentré en pueblos remotos donde el tiempo parece detenerse.

Vi pingüinos en Tierra del Fuego, recorrí los majestuosos Andes, exploré los pequeños y coloridos países de Surinam y Guayana Francesa, y sentí el ritmo de la vida en el norte tropical de Brasil. Fui testigo de maravillas naturales, vi amaneceres en el desierto de Atacama, escalé volcanes, enfrenté los mares salvajes del Cabo de Hornos y, en cada rincón, me conmovió la calidez y hospitalidad de su gente.

Estos años no siempre fueron fáciles, pero fueron justamente los desafíos –los largos viajes en bus, las barreras del idioma, la soledad ocasional– los que hicieron la aventura aún más profunda. No solo recorrí países, sino que también forjé vínculos, creé amistades y dejé pedazos de mi corazón repartidos por todo este continente maravilloso.

Sudamérica – me enseñaste a vivir el momento, a abrazar lo desconocido con los brazos abiertos y que los mayores tesoros suelen encontrarse donde el camino es más difícil.

Tres años, incontables historias – y aun así, siento que este viaje apenas comienza.
